the search tool

we all know that this forum is really popular, over time, the number of threads have increased tremendously. and to aid us in our search for the thread we are looking for, the forum is installed with a search tool.

however, this search tool has it's limitations.
the minimum number or characters is 4.
this can makes our search quite difficult at times, since there are many brands with names that are only 3 letters long (eg. vox, emg, ltd, esp).

i think if the the minimum number of characters is reduced to 3, it could help a lot of softies in their search.

Did you try the SEARCH SOFT on the left? That one has no limitation. Let me know if that is good.

the search on the left can be quite useful. but at the same time, it has a lot of irrelevant search results.

for example, if someone was thinking of buying a vox amp and he were to type "vox", he would get redundant results such as "female vox available".

even if he were to narrow down the search to "sell vox amp", there would still be unrelated search results such as "are there any other shops that sell vox amps in singapore?"

moreover, the search results generated by the google search are not arrange chronologically, are often, very old threads are being shown.

i feel that this defeats the intended purpose of simplifying the task of searching.
