Hi people, jus wanna ask u guys how ur feel abt the music lab.

im refering to the context of their guitar lessons, band performance studies and the overall learning environment of tt school. haha this will decide whether i'll learn frm there so thank u ppl!!!

Music Lab is operated by Mr Alvin Tan, a respected and on-demand drummer and a fellow MDCian alumni.

Intructors there includes Mr Roy Dragon, Ms Lily Nurris, both MDCians and Mr Bani Rahman, a swell guy and a sessionist 1st caller in the local recording scene.

I recommend them highly.

PS... I am not in any way, affliated to Music Lab. I'm just a musician who happens to ge friends with them.

cheers

Hi funkynoob

I'm actually learning guitar there now! :D

My "teacher" (feels a bit weird calling him teacher, haha) is Fugene - he's good! Patient, always willing to explain, teach and share his knowledge with a complete musical idiot like moi! ;)

So yeah, you can try Music Lab. In fact, I was thinking of learning drums from them after I'm done with guitar!

hey guys... thks for ur opinions that i am very appreciative of...

btw... can you ppl share wif me some of the things ur learn frm the music lab??
(so that i'll know wad to expect) thks

Actually, I guess it depends on whether you have any prior musical background. The teacher is likely to ask you that on your first lesson. If you have, you'll probably go direct to learn the chords (after a short intro on the different parts of a guitar and how to tune it perhaps?).

But if you're a complete musical idiot like yours truly here, well then you'll have to learn a bit of very basic theory first. They'll also ask you to buy a guitar "textbook", haha...

Once you're ready, you'll start to learn a song or two ;) I guess it is through playing the songs that you learn more about the different techniques of playing a guitar e.g. sliding :)

I'm also a student at Music Lab too, my teacher Roy Dragon is one of the most talented musicians i've met. He teaches everything there except drums lol. The principle Mr Alvin is one of the best drummers i've met in person. (Sometimes can hear him practicing during my lesson lol.) Great place to start learning an instrument :)
