we always had heart
now we've got SOL ... again ...
'Sol Campbell is a first-class professional'
On his side's character...
"I think they showed good spirit and good character after being 2-0 up then getting pegged back to 2-2 but coming back to win it 4-2. I thought we were a bit edgy at first and then we got into the game and then we got two goals and that settled us down and we started to play."
On West Ham's second penalty...
"I think
Kyle Bartley has come across and made a tackle and the referee has seen it from behind and decided it was a penalty. You can't dwell on decisions, good or bad. You've got to keep focused on the game, keep a clear head, accept it and get on with it. They did that and came back with good spirit and went on to win 4-2."
On Sol Campbell's inclusion...
"Sol is a fantastic professional. He came in [to the side] and said it was great to be out there playing. He's played with these youngsters before and I've got to say he is a first-class professional."
On Campbell's withdrawal at half-time...
"He's OK. That was planned to give him a run out as he hasn't played in five months. We may try and get another fixture for him in the coming weeks so he can get another game."
On having experienced players in the usually youthful line-up...
"It's fantastic and always a pleasure to have them in. They always come with a fantastic attitude and speak to the players and try to help them. It's a part of being at Arsenal Football Club."
On maintaining the pressure at the top of the table...
"As we've said from the start we want to win every game we play, every cup and every league. But the big thing as we always say is to get the players into the first-team dressing room. It's only 20 yards from the reserve-team dressing room but it's probably the hardest 20 yards they'll ever have to walk."
On the season so far...
"I've been pleased with the players. We had a little dip but we've changed quite a few players over the season so far, we've given a lot of lads a game and players may go out on loan over the forthcoming weeks and they need that.
"We like to see the likes of
Craig Eastmond and
Jay Emmanuel-Thomas getting in with the first team and it would be nice to maybe get a couple more in there but without a doubt we'd very much like to win the league."
