some of the lower rung 1st & 2nd div teams have got bigger history than the showponies ....

if no russian rubbles - they wud be the mid table mediorcre team they were all along

so many managers come & go .. even more than real madrid
 
in my humble opinion,

History doesn't mean anything. It's over. Dead stuff. Useless.
That's why i fail to understand many pple who brag about their personal histories, countries' histories, clubs' histories etc.

The only thing that matters to me,
is Right Now.
 
yes i'm sure the emirates trohpy cabinet is empty. Like three league titles and a few more FA cups which they brought over from highbury.

as i recall anfield's division one titles are so dusty they aren't really premier league... oh wait. They are old division one wins.

but in my opinion, history gives a club color, depth and interesting and of course, with a huge cabinet of achievements it gives a reputable mark where one club would stand in average.

look at liverpool, i bet they probably have a library of history books about themselves. it gives the fans and anti-fans a reason why they should love and hate the club even more. adding history to current form of the club, it acts as an accelerant and catalyst to generate football passion (of both kinds).

it's not about bragging on our 13 wins in BPL, it's about why we're passionate towards our club. and history drives the passion.

how often you get a gooner blasting their 13 bpl wins? hardly and only when provoked.

i used other clubs' history (or lack of) to rub salt on their wounds. see it works that way. it's a reminder that the opponents should do something about their current form.

eh to be fair the undefeated run was so long ago i actually forgot about it. ok thats like greatest sin #1 for an Arsenal fan.

i'd really love to brag about 49 games undefeated, except for the fact that game #50 was inflicted by the manures. =/

maybe some supporters get a monthly cheque from their club for "bragging" or "defending" their club name .... :confused:
