THE FOOTBALL THREAD Vol 2

At the end of the day, a win is a win.

Yes, it's upsetting all the events & referee's blunders made & all.

Weren't ARSE-nal recently also awarded a rather "dubious" penalty?

Unfortunately diving has become part of the sport - I hate it & dont condone it ....

One big diff was Eduardo's dive was after AFC was already comfortably up by several goals against celtic and didnt afectthe result

Rooney's dive was i a high pressure game that change the comlpextion of the match

I didnt get any satisfaction in beating Celtic although they did score 2 more goals after the dive. I felt it was unfair towards Celtic and that penalty did change the complexion of the game as it killed off any aspirations they had in trying to score at the Emirates.Thing is, Eduardo didnt look at the referee pitifully immediately after his tumble.I find that to be very interesting.

We did but i believe Eduardo's going to be banned for two matches.

anyways, the intensity of the game is off the charts instantly made loserpool vs bolton's match a drag to watch prior man utd vs arsenal... nonetheless, we'll get over this loss and bounce back. we have man shitty in our sight and we're ready to take em down!

p.s. heck, i rather have arsenal lose to last season's champions than to a newly promoted team anytime. :P

If bragging about United losing to Burnley then go ahead.Everyone have their bad days and away to Burnley happened to be one of them.I rather win against top teams around us rather than pathetic teams that would struggle to stay in the league.

wow show some respect to burnley dude. they are, after all, playing in the top tier of 1 of the biggest leagues in the world

We’re best equipped to dethrone the champions

  • Arsène Wenger believes his side are best equipped to dethrone Manchester United despite Saturday’s defeat at Old Trafford.

Andrey Arshavin handed the Gunners a deserved lead five minutes before the break in the champions’ backyard. However, Wayne Rooney’s penalty and Abou Diaby’s own goal in the second-half sent Arsenal to their first defeat of the season.

Speaking after the game, a disappointed Wenger insisted that his confidence in the side had not diminished as a result of the reverse. But the manager admitted that there is room for psychological growth among his squad.

“We were very strong today. I am very confident, I just hope that this unexpected defeat will not derail their confidence,” Wenger said.

“I feel we are equipped to challenge for the title. Frankly, when you see a comparable two performances of the two teams, you can recognise that.

“I think they have won a game today they should not have won.

“I believe we looked mature on the pitch, in the way we are positioned on the pitch but individually in this team there is some nervousness there.”

yup, however sad it is, an win is still a win, 3 points is still 3 points.

in which i wonder why would UEFA even bother charging Eduardo with the "dive" when you know that won't change the outcome of the match. hehe.

Hmm...You're one of the better AFC fans I've come across. United fans ourselves know that we didn't deserve the full 3 points that day. But hey, tough luck. All isn't fair in football. That's what makes it such a delight to watch.

HERE'S AN EMAIL HELLO TO ME FROM OUR OLD SOFTIE KAKI RORK ... JUST TOT I"D SHARE IT WIF U FOOTIE SOFTIES ...

Heya bro

Long time no 'see'.

Arseshaven's thingy was POSSIBLY a penalty lah but the ref thought that Fletcherinho also got the ball and Arseshaven didn't have sufficient control of the ball at the time. Seriously, if I was the ref, I would have called for a penalty (cos I striker maut ;-)) but Arseanal scored from the ensuing play - so no loss there right?

Rooney was smart and Aluminium was goblocks for coming out when he wasn't ever, ever, ever going to get the ball. Sure Rooney dived but if he didn't either he or Aluminuim would have been bengkok-ed. So smart move from Wayne Looney and dumb from Aluminium or a case of poor judgement, or as Wenger called it, "lack of experience"

Truly, you guys didn't do enough to win the game. We played badly but won and it was only because of a crazy (read kelong) goal that we won. A draw would have been fair but we won - still better than shit hitting the fan. ;-)

You lost the ball countless of times but we didn't take advantage of it. Neither side was worthy of a win,.although you guys played slightly better BUT only because we played poorly. But the truth is that neigther side did enough to win it.

But it is far fetched to say that Arseanl (see I spelt it properly ;-0) deserved to win the game. You guys created very little and never really threatened except for van Pussy's shot that was saved by an Aussie (cricket player actually) and Arseshaven's strike that fooled the Aussie.

Other than that, IT WAS A F**** GAME! I meant Football Game. ;-)

Eh bro, here's a tip - BEAT SHITTY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! WOOOOOOOOOOOOTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTT!!!!!!!!

yeah ... I miss, and I guesds so do many others ....the one & only Rork and the banter we used to have in the original football thread ....
