THE FOOTBALL THREAD Vol 2

ENGLAND LOST! 0-2 down after 14 minute...

battled to 2-2 ...

then leggo a third goal....

MOST PATHETIC DISPLAY I"VE SEEN BY ANY NATIONAL TEAM....

they way they pllayed, even SINGAPORE could have beaten them yesterday...

DESERVE TO MISS OUT ON EURO 08!

they tried to do a "beckham magic" like they did against greece in the world cup qualifier....

BUT THEY DIDNT COZ OF THE THIRD GOAL!!!

on a bright note, crouch's 14th goal in 24 games (benitez, better consider your strike options....)...

still, ENGLAND OUT!!

there seems to be an inherent esteem when it comes to 'England' which proved to be hype this morning. i agree with my colleagues (here in the office), they deserve to be out.

England didn't deserve to be out of Euro 2008 but McClaren does deserve to be sacked from his job. Anyone can blame injuries and suspension but last night proved that he isn't cut out to be a manager of an international team.

Why the hell did he go back to 4-5-1 after Crouch equalised?! Had he stayed with 4-4-2, England might have gotten at least a point.

+99999 If McClaren ain't sacked by the FA, i'd say they wld be even stupider than Benitez's rotation policy. As for ego players, add Lampard to the list.

Reports say Steve McClown stubbornly refused to step down.....because the FA will compensate him more than $2M for sacking him. Either way, that useless coach still wins.

yes I saw the interview ...si be boh paiseh ... kena humiliated at home vs Crotia sumo dowan step down!

LATEST: Steve McClown has been sacked. In fact, he should be booted out nong nong time ago. But alas, the damaged has been done. Too late liao.

Ok, back to dah Premier League.....

.....and Liverpool will kick Toon's ass this Saturday!

IT'S ABOUT TIME THEY SACKED HIM. dont even know why they appointed him england manager in the first place. dumb cunts.

enger without six players for Wigan clash on Saturday
Arsenal v Wigan Athletic
Barclays Premier League
Emirates Stadium
Sat, Nov 24, 2007, 3pm

By Richard Clarke

Arsenal will be without six first-team players for their return to Premier League against Wigan on Saturday.

The leaders are likely to have five midfielders unavailable - Alex Hleb (hamstring), Mathieu Flamini (thigh), Cesc Fabregas (suspended), Abou Diaby (back) and Gilberto (fatigue). Philippe Senderos is back but Robin van Persie’s long-standing knee problem has not healed sufficiently for him to return.

The Dutchman last played for Arsenal against Sunderland on October 7. He picked up his injury during the international break that followed that game. It appears the most recent one has cost Arsenal a couple more players this time.

“Hleb came back with a hamstring injury,” Wenger told Arsenal.com on Thursday afternoon. “So once again we lose someone during this [international] period. I think he’ll be out for 21 days. Flamini came back with a little thigh problem too. That will be one week maximum.

“Senderos is available but Cesc is suspended. Diaby has a back problem from the Slavia Prague game and he’ll be out for three weeks. Robin van Persie is not back and he will not be back for Sevilla either. Gilberto will return very, very late. In fact he only comes back on Friday. So, as for the rest of the squad, we’ll see.”
