The Biggest Rock Band?

I find it a little weird that Megadeth is the biggest rock band in this world.

I'm certain the likes of Megadeth, Metallica aren't rock bands.

Maybe if you say the biggest band in this world, yeah.

And another point, what is it about the biggest band? Do you mean the best band or literally the band with the largest number of members?

If it's the latter, I'll vote for Slipknot. Haha.

Well, rock being a fairly generic term. How one chooses to categorise it is a different story. Of course I don't mean the largest number of people...

As with rock and metal, both are very widely deivided into different subgenres.

and as with any dichotomy, there'll always be ppl mixing up the classes and sub genres.

Dude. I definitely know Megadeth doesn't play rock. But for the sake of finding that one big band, the media no longer splits them up by specific genres. You don't see them having U2 as the biggest rock band then Megadeth as the biggest thrash metal band then Limp Bizkit as the crap metal band...it doesn't add value to the title I guess.

The biggest rock band would be a band which makes EVERYONE really want to ROCK N ROLL and just go wild. The closest band to that definition would be Guns N Roses or Led Zeppelin.

to me the biggest band would be the band with the most fans. that is of course, impossible to determine. number of albums sold and number of spectators at their performance helps. but cannot really determine.
