The Analog Girl is featured as TIME's Asian Act To Watch for 2008

i'm embarrassed to say i don't know much about her though i've seen the name dropped a few times

went to her myspace a couple of times before

saw the article on the newpaper sometime back. or was it straits times? lol

It's great that a singapore act gets to be in Time. But why is it that everyone seems to keep harping on where they master their music. Does it add legitimacy to their music? Or is it an indication of the singaporean psyche where overseas is good but local is bad?

it does, and to an extent, matters lots in the overall audio we hear from the cd. But then, if the pre mastered stuff is already half way not there, there aint much mastering can help to improve on the overall sound quality.

heh, as for why most of the bigger bands all go the foreign road for mastering...that one gotta leave it to some other bros bros who knows one thing or two into the working process.

What i is heard, are some valid reasons to go the overseas way for mastering. And it seem not really in the sense of local bad, foreign good kinda mentality...

Wow!
That's so cool - have seen her perform twice (not my cup 'o' tea personally) so glad to see a Singaporean musician highlighted...
