Hola Aging Youths,

Catch Allura in National University of Singapore Arts Festival 2009 in 'Elementalism', a unique showcase of music and the environment. Great Spy Experiment, Shirlyn Tan & The UnXpected and The Fire Fight will be performing as well!

Representing nature's elements Earth, Wind, Fire and Water, the bands are set to rock out new melodies for the environment in this 3 hour rock concert! The show happens this Saturday 14 March 2009 at University Cultural Centre Courtyard at 1700hr. Free admission.

B-Quartet is hard at work on their as-yet-untitled sophomore full-length. The numerically-challenged six-piece quartet has crafted a concept album for its next release. As we are targeting a Q4 release date, we hope to put the final product in your grubby hands by November 2009.

In Lunarin's world, the feature film 'Brother Number 2' is finally getting air time in this year's Singapore Film Festival. The band, together with band friends Mark Wong (aka kulturekampf) and local indie director Jacen Tan (of Tak Giu fame), contributed to the soundtrack of this documentary. The closing song 'Zero Point Red' can be heard at the end of this 75-minute feature film version. It was omitted in the shorter version, The Trouble with Waiting, which won the Busan film festival last year.

For those of you curious to find out what the film is about, do catch the film screening on Wednesday 22 April 2009 at the Substation. We have 2 free tickets for 'Brother Number 2' to give away. Email theoracle@lunarin.com for more details.

Details here: http://www.filmfest.org.sg/displayFilm.php?filmID=87&filmCat=10

For their upcoming album, recording arrangements are underway and Lunarin is aiming for a mid-year start date with a eye at a possible year-end release.

The Lard Brothers have completed around 20% of their 2nd full length album 'Simply As Designed' which is tooled as a futuristic hip-hop opera. The reconfigured hip-hop unit is looking at a late 2009 release date or just droppin' da bomb on Friday 1 January 2010.

In the Zero Sequence camp, frontman Ming Toh has left the band to pursue his interest of '80s glam rock n' roll with his new band SkyRocket. Mang from Timbre resident band The GoodFellas has joined Zero Sequence as the new lead pipes. Mang has previously contributed guest vocals on the album 'Flight Of Transcendence', specifically on 'Transcedence'.

The prog-rock sextet is looking at writing new material with Mang to start work on their 3rd full-length release. Production will kick off early 2010.

Love always,

Aging Youth Records

Allura will be performing for the Lunch Invasions, an event blending a flea market with solid indie music organised by NUS Original Music Society this Friday 27 March 2009. Showtime is 1140hr. The fivesome will be performing along with Like A Band and Lunar Node. Venue is National University of Singapore Central Forum. Admission is free. Pop by if you are in the area! We know there's nothing like a drunken college frat party but this is not one. Close but no cigar...

Petite frontwoman Inch Chua of Allura is preparing her solo full length which is slated to be released in the 2nd part of the year. Titled 'The Bedroom', it's a quieter affair compared to Allura's boisterous alternative rock, drawing influences from her love of singer-songwriters and quirky electronica. Check out some clips here at: http://www.purevolume.com/inchchua. And no, just because it's titled 'The Bedroom' doesn't mean that there will be pictures of hers in the album sleeve.

Woooo, we just found out that there are 2 clips of B-Quartet's latest recordings floating in MySpace. Go to http://www.myspace.com/hdjtasriser to check them out. Well, please bear in mind both tracks are still incomplete and unmixed. Act like a fly on the wall and drop in to take a listen.

With the sad, sad series closure of Battlestar Galactica, The Lard Brothers have decided to bust out outta the doldrums and carry on with the start of the rest of their lives. With a plan, like the Cylons, of course. Beside working towards the goal of putting out a new album on New Year Day 1 January 2010, they will drop a remix album, featuring them chopping up tunes from Singapore acts. The tentative release date for the remix album titled 'My Grandmother Can Remix Better Than You, Fatboy!' will be Children's Day 1 June 2009. More details will be publicised over the next few weeks.

Oiii! Do I think I'm aCylon or am I reli a wanna be Cylon?

The final fight scene confirmed my suspicions that Battlestar Galactica is the final Cylon. Retrofitted from Daniel to a big spaceship. Check out the ramming it did to the Cylon colony. Tsk... No wonder the whole colony turned red.
