You can't compare the Tama Starclassic with the Pearl Forum. It just like comparing a Mercedez with a Toyota.....

true true...but thats not my point ><!
my point is that you dont have to buy an expensive drumkit to make it sound good, remember the set itself is not everything, its the tunning that counts :D

and a toyota can run just as fast at a mercedez but its only that branding and price that makes the difference.ppl get the mercedez just for the prestige ^^

Heh, well... A Merc's 0-100 acceleration is alot faster than the Toyota's VVT engine right.... And, it doesn't feel that light or rumbles when cruised at higher speeds... Handling/cornering would be much better on the merc too, and if you want to overtake, you know that your vehicle has the power to do so. However, the toyota's petrol consumption is so much more cost efficient!

Likewise, a forum can definitely be cranked up to a nice tone, but it'll nv have the characteristics of a high end kit... But hey! I'd rather be the Toyota guy and save money! :o

churnz, its not 100% about tuning to make a drum sound good.material/bearing edges and alot of factors play into it.... :)

i didnt mention that good drum sounds are 100% based on tunning did i?
i just said that good tunning is also important,i also didnt say that the other factors such as drum material etc. do not play a part :D

but what ever it is, as long as u enjoy the drums, nothing else matters :D

its not that expensive right

well,i dunno, but according to nysk,it is 8O

no kidding its really 6.2k... if u consider that expensive then yea its expensive... for a drum set it is, but for a starclassic i think it rathers worth it... yea and u cant jus go compare a forum with starclassic, lol u dont even have to mention the comparison of car brands... as a drummer it already says it all... 'a forum to a starclassic"!!
