The Tama Imperialstar, at one go, replaces the Stagestar and Swingstar.

The cool thing about the Imperialstar is that it comes in 3 BD configs - 18", 20", 22".

So if you really wanted to, you could still get a 'Stagestar' but now under a different name.

JL, based on prices at SameDayMusic.com, the 3 configs are at different prices. 18" - US$500, 20" -US$630, 22" - US$680. I can't remember, but the one SL has on display is likely to be 22" I think, a popular size these days. They'll probably be able to order in for you if you want.

well i guess its a good thing tts its now 2old series combined to 1.

BUT if u hav space constrains then i guess u hav to look somewhere else.
cos e ES is kinda big compaired to e old Stagestar.
unless ur willing to get mayb a 2nd hand stagestar

for everyone's info the imperialstars are made of poplar shells and not the usual phillippines mahogany.

one's made of phillipine mahogany and the other's of poplar...

i dunno anything about poplar but it should be cheaper than phillipine mahogany... - my own theory

but last time, the Q series have only 12 lugs on the bass drum, probably upgraded to 8 lugs now.. hehe

Hmm...I dun quite understand your advice, Emman. You are basically asking to replace one entry level kit with another. I do not see the need for such a switch if you are talking about upgrading from one drumset to another.

as in replace bcos e stagestar is not long in production.
not really upgrading. more lyk jus replace if ur looking for something e same size as e stagestar. so ya sorry if my earlier post gave out e wrong message.
