i got a tama stagestar at home, heres the deal...
first thing you do after buying the stagestar, is to buy another set of cybals, even paiste 101s are good enough
the stock cymbals are truly a waste of precious earth resources, but you can bend the stock crash into a china cymbal
as for its size, the stagestar is meant to be smaller than your average drumset, to fit into smaller homes
sound wise, nigel from drum resources has proven that no matter how crappy a drumset maybe, if you tune it up properly, it can sound like a million dollars
the snare is a steel snare, and its not that warm, a lot of overtones, you'll need a pair of o rings to solve this
as for the toms, i still cant seem to tune them right, but well im not much of a drummer
hi-hat stand? not really that durable, maybe after a year or so you might want to upgrade it
for that price, i'd say its quite a decent drumset, and its upgradeable also
final say: either you like it or you don't
