Hey people ,
can i check with the people out there who has Tama stagestar ,
is it very very small or just average ?
cause that day i saw the kit like quite small lah ,
was thinking of getting one ..

:D

its smaller than the average kit thats for sure haha... i think its either fusion size or smaller than that haha

my advise, not really worth ur money... save for a pearl export or tama superstar at the least if u want ur money's worth

i got a tama stagestar at home, heres the deal...

first thing you do after buying the stagestar, is to buy another set of cybals, even paiste 101s are good enough

the stock cymbals are truly a waste of precious earth resources, but you can bend the stock crash into a china cymbal :)

as for its size, the stagestar is meant to be smaller than your average drumset, to fit into smaller homes

sound wise, nigel from drum resources has proven that no matter how crappy a drumset maybe, if you tune it up properly, it can sound like a million dollars

the snare is a steel snare, and its not that warm, a lot of overtones, you'll need a pair of o rings to solve this

as for the toms, i still cant seem to tune them right, but well im not much of a drummer

hi-hat stand? not really that durable, maybe after a year or so you might want to upgrade it

for that price, i'd say its quite a decent drumset, and its upgradeable also

final say: either you like it or you don't

btw, fusion is not a size contrary to popular belief, its a set up by which the toms are mounted on racks or holders, not mounted on the bass drums

i own 1.

yes its smaller then usual kits and it looks damn small from where u see at swee lee (example)...even im quite shocked by how small it looked on showcase.

but once you're behind the kit...its a whole different feel...im quite a short fella. 1.68m only. It fits me perfectly and i find it more comfortable then playing rock size drums ( 12,13,16,22 ). Im able to place the toms more flatly. If you wanna have an idea how low you can set, check out benny greb's drumset...( hes 1 tall dood )...

bought my kit second hand and didn't even get to to touch the stock heads/cymbals...so cant comment on that...

the hihat stand is holding fine for me...just dont stomp on it barbaricly. :D

yes the snare has ALOT of higher overtones...i did put a piece of moongel on it.

the toms too had moongel on them. I tuned them with a DrumDial ( a good friend's 1 ) thus the heads were more in tune by itself...

the pedal is alright...mayb change the spring to a tama heavy duty 1 if you like a tighter feel. ( PS: other beaters available on the market can't fit into the stagestar pedal's beater hole )

tuned well, the kit can sound great! good cymbals help too. :D

check out my kit in the Show us your kits section....i'll be posting a new pic soon ( just setup to a 4 piece due to hari raya season coming soon ... need space )...

good luck! :D

Bro, if u can wait and gather bit more cash, Tama jus resurrected the Imperialstar. Maybe can go for tat wan which mite last u the distance. The question is jus when local stocks will be available.

I have one. It fits very comfortably in any HDB flat. But like everything and anything you'll buy in your entire lifetime, you get what you pay for.. So yeah...
