tama drumset

Am I arranging correctly? (best is on the top)
where will Tama Superstar be in??
did i miss any models? something custom?

Tama Artstar
Tama Rockstar
Tama Swingstar
Tama Stagestar

 8) i think stagestar is a very powerful drumset too despite the arrangement. cheers

U got that somehow correct.

Tama Artstar was one the main drums for Rock/Metal players back in the late 80s.

Lars Ulrich famous White Monster kit for the black album is Tama Granstar which is hard to get and very costly.

Shld check out Tama website for more details.

Cheers!

i believe the current superstar would be on the top of the list. This new superstar (there was an old line called superstar too) replaces the rockstar. i'm not too sure abt the artstar except that it's pretty old, and was probably quite high up the list back then.

Hi guys,

Tama's Range goes like this. From cheapest to dearest.

Stagestar
Swingstar
Superstar
Superstar EFX
Superstar Custom
Starclassic Performer B/B
Starclassic Maple
Starclassic Bubinga
Starclassic Exotics

Rockstar was discontinued Early last year, replaced by superstar.
Artstar was discontinued many years ago replaced by starclassic
Grandstar the same.
Starclassic Performer was birch until Feb this year. Now its Birch and Bubinga thats why its called B/B

Hope this helps

For Pearl Drums,

I'll give my best shot from wat i know. :D

Pearl Masterworks Drums
Pearl Masters Drums
Pearl Reference Drums
Pearl Sessions Drums
Pearl Exports Drums
Pearl Forums Drums
Pearl Soundcheck/Rythm Traveller
Pearl Target Drums

For Masterworks, there's two categories:

Pearl Masterworks and Masterworks Artisan Series

Pearl Masters are divided into 5 sub models;

Pearl MMX (4 ply maple), Pearl MRX (6 ply Maple), Pearl MSX (6 ply Maple with covered finish), Pearl BRX (6 ply birch) and Pearl MHX (4 Ply Mahogany + 4 Ply Maple)

Pearl Reference is the latest series to be release by Pearl and it features multi-rojak wood combi for different component of the drums.

Pearl Session is divided into 2 series.

Pearl SMX (All Maple) and Pearl SBX (All Birch)

The most well-known Pearl Export Series are divided into 3 sub-series.

Pearl ELX, Pearl EXR and Pearl EX.

There's no difference between the 3 Pearl Export Series in terms of wood compontnt other than the finishes.

ELX offers a super high glass laquer finish
EXR offers ultra exotic covering
EX offers exclusive covered finish

Hope this helps!!

i thought reference was uber top series. considering how its EQd wood wise...for each component...

I thought so too when news abt its features were highlighted.

But Pearl Masterworks and Pearl Masters Series outranked Pearl Reference.

A 16" Pearl Masterworks floor tom is equivalent to a Pearl EX set!!

Yo guys, what i know is Pearl Masterworks is a total custom drums from pearl. You can't buy Masterworks from showroom, you have to custom order it and use whatever wood you want eg: you want mix-wood, 20plies or 30plies up to your own specs. For a 5piece Masterworks shell-pack, it's about $4500.

Reference Series is the top of the line series drums from Pearl. A 5-piece Reference Series shell pack, it's about $4000.

Master Customs is next, a 5-piece maple master custom shell pack set is about $3250.
