Takamine solid top

any cons that the solid top guitar goes for that cheap?

No cons.

But the main thing is.. how does it sound? You've to hear and decide for yourself.

Often not, certain things are cheaper for a reason. If it sounds good, I don't mind if it's half or double the $300 asking price.

(:

hmm yea well looks like i gotta go down and play some takamines..
thanks for the advice mate!

Well, I think there are cons. I've experienced first-hand how a well-made all-laminate can sound better than a poorly-made solid-top, but the thing is that Takamine has already made a name for itself and quality-wise they've got a good reputation.

So yeah I think you should give the guitar a try, a solid-top for that price is a nice deal if you ask me, and if you try it before you buy and like it, you can't quite go wrong with it. I personally find Takamines well-made, even the lower-end ones, but if you asked me about a no-brand or a sort of 'lower-end' brand with solid-top, I wouldn't recommend it unless it has really proved impressive.

the takamine D50SC is no longer avaliable at Davis.
there is a alternative though.
Takamine G series G340SC. same price 299. solid top.
