swee lee sale (what u guys intending to get)

its cos im totaly helpless about it....its not in my hands la....like im not even there...anyways...does that shop have good splashes? im crazy over splashes...they sounds super neato

i was thinking of getting a double bass pedal..

thing is, i do not know which one suits me.

where can i go to check out pedals besides the drum lab in peninsula?

any idea?

for sticks, i'll have to say Vater..

im thinking of getting some cymbals too..

the ones in jam studios are reely @$*@&%*$%*..

Okay guys, went down to Swee Lee Sims Drive to check out the stock today.

Saw:
2-3 pairs of Eliminators (Can't remember)
1 pair of IC Power Glide
Loads of IC Single pedals.
Cymbals; saw lots of the new APX.
Whole bunch of skins as usual
A lot of kits on display, as usual.
Not much accessories like clamps, BB has more. Maybe 150 Sims Drive didn't bring them out yet.
Snares, rack fully stocked plus at least 5 on boxes.

There's a Pearl Export in a really sexy finish (to me), list price at about 1.3ish k. Pretty good price after the 50%.

Cymbals(with the number of pieces I saw)

Hats:

13" HHX Groove Hats x 1
14" HHX Groove Hats x 2
13" HHX Manhattan Jazz Hats x 1
14" HHX Manhattan Jazz Hats x 2
14" HHX Stage Hats x 2
Loads of xS20 Hats
14" HH Bright Hats x 1
14" HH Medium Hats x 2
13" Vault Jojo Mayer Fierce Hats
13" Fusion Hats
12" Jam Master Hats

Crashes:

Loads of APX in various sizes
Quite a few HH crashes in 16"
xS20s, again

Rides:

21" HHX Groove Ride x 2
A handful of xS20s
various APXs again.
a 23" Vault Ride, Can't remember exactly but it sure was very interesting

Effects:

Diamondback Chinese
Jia Chinese x 2 (Not sure about the sizes; definitely one 20".)
Quite a few splashes which I didn't check out

I missed out quite a bit, either because they didn't interest me enough for me to remember. Also, the stupid old man there was pissing the shit outta my friend and I. Couldn't even try out basses and guitars.

Reason why there are more hats than anything 'cos I'm only looking to get hats from the sale. But I've decided against it.

All the best for the sales,
jeepers

hey dude...brilliant work..u have prolly helped alot of people here. now...could u try remembering how many elims were on sale? and did u see any china splashes? if so which company? and is the discount flat 50%?
sorry im a sale virgin here =p

and it would also help me if anyone who wants elim pedals posts here saying " hey me...i want eliminator pedals"

thanks...that will help me judge whether it will be of any use sending my uncle to the sale.

and yet again jeepers...great job man

All the best to everyone too.
I'll be looking for hardware and practice pads.
This would be my first time so I'm not sure what to expect... my fingers are crossed, though =)

Woah that's a very thorough check you did jeepers. Well done! I'm sure some folks here will find the info really useful.

From previous experience at the sale, all the double pedals (Elim and IC) were snapped up in minutes. So all the best to those who are queuing for double pedals. :D

Firstly dude, please read jeepers' post again. He already stated that he saw 2 or 3 elim pedals.

Secondly, yes. The discount is 50% off the list price, unless stated otherwise.

Thirdly, the cymbals there are all Sabian, and maybe some left over old stock for Paiste.

Lastly, for your reference:
There are people who even queue OVERNIGHT to get the gear they really want at the sale. It generally takes at least 2 hours or more to get in, if you end up somewhere behind in the queue. And the queue gets even more insane each year.

So there you go. Gauge yourself if you should send your uncle down for the sale. :)

andthevipersaid: Thanks. As said, I only saw 2-3 pairs of Elims on sale; definitely not more than 5 pairs. And yes, Mel is absolutely right. The elims are usually snapped up by the MFO members.

Mel80: Well, karma! Hahah! Anyway, I figured most people wouldn't have as much time as I do to drop by and check out stock so since I was already dropping by, I thought I would do something good for the first time in my life. HA.

2dmax: Practice pads I'd actually recommend Yamaha's HQs or Drum Resources' E-pads. Great stuff. Not a fan of the practice pads retailed at Swee Lee.

BTW:

You guys might want to check out drum cases as well. SKBs going for really decent prices. Also, here are the list prices for the Eliminator and Iron Cobra (Power Glide) double pedals respectively; $636.65 and $642.00. Do the math and you'll get how much you'll pay for them pedals at the sale come Saturday.

wtf...i will be paying just $125 more if i buy from BB showroom...less of a hassel...well nothing goes in trying....my uncle will go check none the less....and hey...will i be able to get like the IC beaters there? ...jeepers?

Up to you. And about the IC beaters, yeah I'm quite sure they're in stock. Didn't check but I saw Tama beaters on display, a whole bunch of them in fact, hanging on the rack.

yea i know they have the tama beaters...cos i have been in contact with the BB showroom guy...adryani right? he said they have the normal tama junior ...so yea i hope its there...man i so wanna be in singapore for the sale...damn man

Since without the sale, the Elims are ONLY $125 more, why even bother your uncle and subject him to such torture. The queue's gonna be insanely long, plus Singapore's weather these few days has been pretty messed up. It's either raining bloody heavily or burning hot.

And yes dude, enough. We know how much you want the Elims, how much you like splashes, whatever rocks your boat. You won't be here for the sale, jolly well live with it. You're spamming the thread, and people who are viewing the thread in hope of anything useful would have to go through your unnecessary posts which I found to be a total waste of time when I was looking through the thread.

No offense intended though, just my honest opinion.

well im sorry if i spammed it...didn mean to be a complete retard .....

so...im really sorry...im just new to this....thought i would get some info from u guys since u guys know way more than me....kay im done here

sorry again

IbanezBear: From your nick, I assume you're a guitarist. Swee Lee's also clearing old stock for pedals, $50 a piece but no warranty. You might wanna check that out, might score a brilliant deal. (Though I highly doubt it, it is Swee Lee, remember ;) )

Btw, to get there. Firstly, how are you gonna get there by? I only know how to get there by MRT and cab.

By MRT: Alight at Aljunied Station. Go through the exit to your right as you clear the gantries. Upon exiting the station, take a left and walk straight until you reach main road then take a right. do NOT go up the overhead bridge (You can if you want to, but I'm afraid of heights not, and don't want to make the extra effort to walk up two flights of stairs; it would totally different directions as well.). Keep walking till you see a zebra crossing, cross the zebra crossing to the traffic light. Cross the road and keep walking straight. Keep walking until you're about 600m from a furniture factory building, (You'll see the road split into two lines just before the building; straight and a right turn) there should be a traffic light there. Cross the road. After crossing the road, turn left. Keep walking straight and follow the road that turns in to the right side. Follow that road all the way in and a further 2-5min walk and you'll see this mother huge Swee Lee building (In orange, I think?). And wa la, there you go.

By Cab:

Hail a cab, tell the uncle "150 Sims Drive, cheapest route please".

andthevipersaid: Perhaps I was too harsh before, my apologies. But, to get the info you so desire, a single post, a please and a thank you would do just fine and dandy.

Again, my apologies if I was too harsh. My bad.
