sweaty palms

hello.

if i have severe sweaty palms(to the extend of sweat dripping if nv whip off), will it affect me playing electric guitar? since it has all electronics stuff on it.

no it wont...though u will get the occasional static electricity...so try to wipe them when u can...and well it doesnt affect coz that time when i was at Baybeats...The Posies lead guitarist was dripping sweat out of everywhere...but he still could solo...and nicely

i haf sweaty palms too...and it certainly dun feels gd when u r like playing half way den u need to stop..wipe ur sweat...den continue playing...i might consider a operation to cure my sweaty palms once and for all...

strings rust very fast.. static electricity sometimes..

my palms get rather moist when I'm nervous or tired. generally i get used to it, but it's still rather... hard to handle.

Google for driclor, it's rather troublesome but it should help.

i have somewhat sweaty palms as well.. i dunno about static, but yes, strings rust really fast so i usually get the dr coated strings.. it last longer.. at most u just need to wipe down your strings after use to delay rusting...

Well i hv sweaty palms too .. but dat only happens to me occasionaly!
Funny rite?! i tot so too! hehe!

i think my sweaty palms is the cause of the strings i use!

but nonetheless, it'll be a good habit to wipe them strings after playing! using a string cleaner after wiping would be another good choice! i currently use fast fret!

but im currently looking out for another good string cleaner! so im not giving any string cleaner recommendations!

sweaty palms maybe due to stress and pressure...so it maybe due to strap level *hehe* and difficulty catching the rhythm of the song...or ur mind is too stressed with outside things...

or it may just be plain hot...but...that doesn't make u abnormal...most people get sweaty palms when its hot and when they're with a guitar...

how much is it and is it really effective? i will be going to national skin centre late sept for treatment. heard that they will soak my hands in some solution and pass current thru it.
and has any1 go for the operation be4? think got a lot of post-op problems right? like compensation sweating or aggravting the problem.

u can try to get driclor from guardian..its $20 works well to stop ur sweaty palm..

i haf sweaty palm too and i find it very irritating, sometimes do bending, piak, the string slip off ur finger.

i tink i will go for the operation and cure it once and for all,

i have sweaty palms only when i play the guitar. when i start to move my fretting hand, foo they sweat like mad. was performing at a gig in dover ite yesterday and halfway through the songs my fretting and picking hand started perspiring like crazy. my strings started to rust a bit, and when i fast fretted my strings you could hear the unbearable screech of the 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th strings.

might consider an operation to eliminate this problem.

or i could just wear gloves :lol:

you tend to sweat more if you're tensed up. I used to have quite a problem of sweaty palms when i first started playing the guitar.
Then when i got more comfortable around the fretboard, i lost that tension, and the sweaty palms problem went away with it.

sometimes i still get sweaty palms, that usually happens when i'm playing in guitar shops, with people watching

Can try the Pick Stuff from Maestro's,

Tennis players use Rosin bags for their sweaty palms. Its a bag of powder, basically, soaks up the sweat. BUT might be too sticky for guitar playing though
