>> But the delta 1010 comes with a PCI card? I connect the dock to the card then how to connect the dock to my soundcard? The reason of me wanting the interface is for more outputs and inputs , and a phantom power( but the delta 1010 doesnt seem to have this )
- the delta 1010 comes with a cable to connect the breakout box (which you call the dock) to the PCI card.
- it does not come with phantom power (so it is not suitable for you)
>> and most important mic ins!! Delta 1010 doesnt have mic in! and how come its so much more expensive than firewire 410?
- you could consider the delta 1010 LT (
http://www.m-audio.com/products/en_us/Delta1010LT-focus.html)
- which comes with phantom power
- it does not come with a dock (but actually it is not important but it depends on the way you work)
- if you don't forsee pluging and unpluging everything all the time or if you use a patchbay, then the dock or breakout box is not important.
>> i dont get it. It seems to be "lousier" IMO..
- it is not lousier - it comes with 10 in and 10 out whereas the Firewire 410 comes with only 4 in and 10 out so if you need a lot of inputs, it is not for you.
- if you prefer more in and out in a firewire package, look at the Firewire 1814.
btw, do u have msn? we can chat, can u add me at
Flaming_Boi@hotmail.com
>> btw, if i get the audiophile 2496 then there will be no errors rite? If i get the firewire 410 and audiophile 2496, then it'll work perfect?
- there is no need to mix the audio interfaces in this way -> perhaps you could tell me what you need to achieve.
- more inputs? By adding a ADAT interface, you can get another 8 inputs with the Firewire 1814. (total of 16 analog and 2 digital inputs)
>> another question, if u call audiophile and firewire audio interfaces, then do i still need to get a soundcard to get good sound from my work?
- No. From my point of view, they are all "soundcards" ; just that 1 is on PCI interface and the other is on firewire.
>> thx alot for your help
- No problem.
