Greeting all!

Sorry If i seem to be repeating my previous post from months ago...... Been spending my day either Studying for A levels or lost in the Ocean of Youtube instructional videos and Website that all teach different things!

I wasted 4 year playing Guitar just knowing how to follow Tabs and play Chords. I want to go beyond that!

But...

I'm confused..... Which Guitar scale should we first learn in order to step into the Realm of Guitar Shredding and Improvisation?!?! Be it Rock guitar or Blues!!!! OMG!!!

There's like,
5 Major and Minor Pentatonics,
7 Major and Minor Scales,
7 Different Modal Scales,
Blue Scales,
Jazz Scales?

Still have to learn how to integrate the different scales together.

There after I have to learn how to apply them to the Fretboard!!!
I know i have to go through Ear training to recognize the Root note before applying the certain scale that best suits the song in the most creative way.
I'm still confused.....
I'm like learning all over the shop, Little bit here and there!

After all these, I still get to explore the realm of Alternative tunings..... Which is a whole new set of skill!
OMG!!!!!

I LOVE GUITAR but am stuck real bad.......

I need Enlightenment! OMG!
I have no $$$$$$ for Guitar Tuition or Guitar Lessons at Music schools.

Thank you if you are able to help!

P.S I'm a Noob, and suck real bad. Sorry if i piss you off with all my posts ever! >.<!!!

Correction. There's a major and minor pentatonic scale for every single note within the diatonic scale. There are 5 different shapes for major and minor pentatonic scale, respectively. Learn the scales and shapes well, but don't use them as though you're practising a scale, just going up and down. Learn how to apply them in context and applying some sort of rhythm to them. It doesn't always have to be played in semi quavers or semi quaver triplets etc.

Don't confuse yourself by starting trying different tunings. Get your basics right first, equip yourself with the tools, then use those tools with other tunings.

Guitar is a very visual instrument, so learn as many shapes as you can, those will be your tools

+1 to this. I'm trying to learn most things either by ear, chord charts or notation. If I'm really unsure about the position, then I'll refer to tabs. But then again this further re-iterates the point I made about learning your tools. Once you have them and you're reading notation, you should more or less be able to find the suitable shape

3 days learn 1 song. You will have a repertoire of 100+ songs in a year!!

So you're saying start with the Pentatonics scales? And learn through application to a backing track of something?

that's possible, but boring. id rather you learn your favourite song and understand the mechanics behind its composition

i started on the pentatonic scales.
But then again its all personal preference, its all about which way you want to go about it.
if your dedicated enough you will learn how to use all of them properly in time so its up to you

Hey! dont worry about learning so many scales first. I think you should just work on what you have first and make the best out of it. I was stuck on the pentatonic scale for years before i started using other scales haha. But i managed to squeeze alot of licks and ideas from that 1 small box.
