Strumming Technique

Hello people, is there a certain strumming technique that you all apply in order to prevent the breaking of strings? I realize i break my strings very easily and i am sure that it isn't the quality of the strings. The G String is the most common string to break. Kindly advise me, thanks.

well... this maybe outta your topic But where do you live?
cos my fren who lives in East Coast has his strings rust very easily and get "brittle". Cos of the salty air in his area his last string breaks very easily.
well if you do live somewhere near the coast, be it east oast, punggol or west coast whatever i guess you just need to be more prudent in your guitar mainntenence, eg wiping down after playing, storing in a cool dry place, maybe use those string cleaners, i remember got one gives the strings a protective coat of something

I am very sure it isn't rust that cost the breaking nor is the condition. I can assure u on this. Thanks for input anyway. =)

well, unless your bridge saddle has a too well define edge? or somewhere along the lines. or you're using a metal pick for strumming? cos i think most strumming technique cant rally harm the guitar at all..

well can tell us more about how you strum haha

Could be the pick? There might a tendency for the jagged edges of old picks to accidentally 'tug' at the strings and snap them...especially if the string is rusty or light gauge...

It could be saddle or the nut as well...
