Strings

For me D,addario XL 10-46, or Rotosound 10-46. Alternates between the two. Im trying a PRS string on my SAS so see how long tt lasts now.

i use super slinky on my SG and regular slinky on my explorer
i kinda found out they tend to buzz when brand new, but it'll go away after a week+ , and by then the strings have kinda seasoned

for now i am trying diff brands... and i fthink best are blue steel and DR strings....both very long lasting and they dun have the old string feeling that other strings get like after half a year... still feels very new.... other brand must keep using fast fret to maintain it.

But for acoustic.... there can onli be one... GHS silk and steel.....i have tried many brands liao.... silk and steel i think is the best in terms of quality and cost too... some strings really cost alot but they r not really alot better then the rest of the most economical strings.....

i've sorta settled on super slinkys. not really sure y. 1 day i bought em then i just never changed. maybe i shld try new stuff. peninsular is like the most convinient place to go actually..........they;ve got like everything u need there.......swee lee's quite inaccessible. esp the sims drive one. so yea..........i always go peninsular...cheers :)

ranking actually sells their stuff kinda cheap too. forgot the prices.

any suggestions on what string i should try on my squier pbass after my d'addario slowound?

I know for a fact that Davis sells strings cheaper than Swee Lee .... I kinda hate going to swee lee .... They have the same shit on display every damn day ....

I have been using D'addarios for a long time and I love these strings all round. Cheap and good, excellent value and always dependable:

Electrics: XL Nickel Round Wound (Light Gauge 10-46)
Steel Acoustics: Phosphor Bronze Round Wound (Light Gauge 12-53)
Nylons: Pro Arte or Pro Arte Composites (Normal Tension)
Basses: EXP160 - Medium

Many well known players use it too... see http://www.daddariostrings.com/ for more info

I've tried boiling strings for my bass before... but I'm not too impressed with the results. It works but definitely not a long term solution.

.

boiling bass strings will make the old strings sound like new, but shorten its life by half. but if can save money can already!

you guys should try out the Wyres eletric strings at Maestro! Damm solid! Better go grab some cos they left very little and going for promo price of 8.90 only

i always use ernie ball. the bass string cannot be thinner than .46. if not wun have the attacky feeling. But now i'm trying this black diamond strings. Looks cool on my explorer cos it's black also. But the coating at the pickup area already starting to die after a day.. Does luther sell DR black strings? cos davis doesnt have and they refused to reply my email.
