I juz changed a set of strings on my strat today and somehow the thinnest 3 strings felt extremely lose even though they are in tune, they seem to rattle abit ...
Just to check before I make any mods to resolve it, this should be caused a problem of the tuners rather thn the vintage trem right ?

Noize, don't jump to conclusions like that.

Mew, you didn't adjust anything on the guitar while changing strings right? Did you change string brand?

Try tuning one entire step up?

Please do not do that if you have tuned properly on a proper guitar tuner. Over tension can damage your neck permanently.

It's possible your strings could be out by one whole complete range. Meaning your low E has gone an octave lower. Some tuners cannot differenciate very well.

Best is to bring it to a shop with a guitar technician, and consult them. If you are courteous enough, some of these shop may not even charge you for it.

Next best thing is you having an experienced friend to check it for you to confirm.

As ridiculous as it sounds, a friend of mine once complained to me that there's something wrong with the strings he bought. That the D string is extremely floppy. So I checked it out for him. Sure he tuned it to D, but an octave flat...

ok thanks for the advice...

what other problem could it be...? because im pretty sure my strings are tuned to 440hz

Of course i'm not asking him to tune it up if it's already quite taut.
