I would upgrade just about everything, it's worth it, not sure if your friend will feel the same way. After my upgrades, the guitar sounded like a $5,000 one (I changed the nexk PUP to EJ Custom just last year together with some new pots and caps). This is one nice classic.

BTW, it's not obit, it's retro!

Back to the inlays; the tree-of-life sells like hotcakes and is always out-of-stock according to the lady, same thing for the thunderbolt and skulls.....

I also bought a few for the body, way cool!

why ej custom on the neck? how abt bridge..? i'm thinking of replacing it with an old dimarzio too
as for the vintage 2 point tremolo, which one should i get? wilkinson & gotoh modern ones can fit nicely?
got to agree on the tone by these Japanese retro axes, mine is the 3single coils rs special v series, great sustain too!

I oso dunno why EJ Custom; I read about it, and based on the description thought it was a good PUP.

The bridge is Dimarzio X2N I think (cannot remember, got it early 90s). This PUP has the highest gain in the whole Universe, I think..

Anyway, I went to the shop at POMO today and it's closed. Darn!!!

Saw from the glass door the price is $36.50 for the tree of life inlay.

OK - I received the decal inlays yesterday - wow they really do look like mothr of pearl inlays .... even when you look up close. It must be some kinda foil and film they use that combines to make it shine & look when you look at it fro diffirent angles ..

the orange one is a G&L Tribute Will Ray signature that actually has a B bender.very unique guitar, someone like a thinline but with 3 amazing G&L Z-coils.
the one hiding behind is a mij tele from 1991-1992, this one's a gem, very nicely aged.
