anyone have any recommendations on where i can get Stereo isolation headphones?? and wad model is good?

i am looking for something that can play music.. not just block sound out...

help?

Try the Vic Firth one? Swee Lee has it.

I'm currently using it and it blocks out sound, as well as plays the part of a headphone. I think quite cheap as compared to the rest that costs around $300 bucks.

Your drum idol Thomas Lang uses the Vic Firth one too. (Which was why I got it in the first place too! Haha!)

Erm, I don't know leh, coz I can't remember.

I went by a couple of weeks ago and I saw it at inside the display case. I was like "Oh darn!" because I bought mine online.

I think if you want, must hurry. Not sure if they have a lot of stock. The last time I saw it, there's only two in the display case!

eh marc , that time we go lavender , beach rd there have rite ,

yeah , i think i saw it the big big isolation headphones, they're damn cheap , i got my earplugs from there at only 3 bucks man , and it works goodly :)

man i yet to get my ear plugs. yea i was also comtemplating on getting the vic firth isolation headphones. like gregg bissonette said. WEAR EAR PROTECTION!

I think Swee Lee has the VF iso stereo headphones at $145 or thereabouts. Not cheap. You might also want to look into DJ-type headphones, but those are going to be at least as expensive. Otherwise a good pair of studio headphones would also work - Audio-technica, AKG, Sennheiser, etc.

Go get the Shure E2Cs....they're quite cheap and sounds great. They're in-ears so it's actually more comfortable to practice or perform with (rather than heavy headphones). They are also excellent for noise cancellation...I actually used them for some of my recording sessions....

i use the good ol sony ericssons walkman in ear bud phones...

those at least block out 25 Decibles or so - i think and i play the music i can hear the drums just nicely...

for jamming.. i use a ear plugs u can get at lavender cheap at like 3 bucks...

those works well..

hey.. thats a good point arh.. i didnt think of gettin in ear sort of earphones... thanks alvin

anyway... DT .... PUT GLUE?!?!?! blur

in ear monitors la. thats the best la. take all the sounds of the drums and play it into the ear at a lower volume level. Even better if used as a band. All the other instruments also can hear clearer. But the drums need the drum mics to capture the sound, then go through a mixer of some sort.

Shure E5 IEMs. Can custom make to fit your ear somemore. 20db of isolation.

But doesnt sound cheap ar.

the E5s are kinda sick. If you're gonna be gigging around. get something that in the event you lose it. Heart not so pain. The E2cs work fine for me. But if you're really willing to spend $$$ instead of a Shure E5c. Go with ultimate ears Superfi 5. Do note if you would prefer monitor or hi-fidelity phones. More choices would include etymotic. But i personally dont like em. Shure or ultimate ears for me.

If you're considering headphones instead. Do try out the Sennheiser HD250. If you have small ears like me. you will really like this one. It should set you back about $300. professional studio grade monitors.

Btw. The e2cs should cost around 120?

Once more. do note whether what you're getting is monitor or hi-fidelity.

If you want to get a isolating earphone, E3C will be the best choice, slightly costly at a price of 200-299 with better base sound then E2C and E500 with 3 drivers are not really recommended unless you have god ears for listening to drums(as many musicians only uses E3C) and even top models in ear monitor from Shure uses E3C the most.

Another thing to take note:

E2C is going to discontinued. There are new models from Shure, the SE series are coming out, I reommend SE310 for your drums. Any informations about microphones, headphones and professional recordings, you can always pm me.

the E2Cs costed me about $190 when it first came out...should be cheaper now. Single driver, so frequency range is not as wide. But good enough for monitoring drums. I've done so many recordings with it...no prob!

E2C is ok but its gonna be discontinued soon this coming few months. Pricing will be S$169 in most retail shops but i have lobang for less then S$145.00 new include gst and S$260.00 for E3C.
