I am so glad that Wei Xiang is bringing this legendary guitar player to Singapore. Never dream that I'd watch him "live". Though I don't him personally, but double/triple thumbs up to him!

how was the gig? really wanted to go but had something on at the same time

Not enough air time for Stanley Jordan

I feel a little let down after the gig, to be honest.

Jordan only played 5 songs on his own before the the trio took over (I was hoping to see more).

While the quartet played, I felt Jordan was "outshine" by the other 3 musicians and wasn't given enough air time to showcase his prowsess on the 6 strings.

I felt like paid $53 to watch a live jam at 7atenine.

No doubt, Weixiang, Christy and Eddy (whom I have lots of admiration for) were masters in their own instrument. But it seems like the gig last night was more like a 7atenine jam "featuring Stanley Jordan".

Thankfully, "over the rainbow" was played by Jordan (solo by himself) during encore. I felt that, that was the saving grace of the evening to make my dollars worth.
