Hi Im choosing between a squier strat and a timbre sr 200....care to say which one is better? Give some opinion on yamaha pacifica 312 too.

I play blue/jazz, a little rock

you tried a timbre sr200 and you didnt go home with it?!

it can only mean 2 things, either it wasnt the best unit there, or the timbre really isnt for you...

normally, ppl are so blown away by the timbres they get it immediately, but in this case i think u should get ur squire:)

keithC: heh cos i didnt have enough cash back then. i know they sound great but ive never tried a squier strat, so asking for opinions here

tone is a personal thing lah, one might like one might loathe (i dont know how many times ive said it before) but its true. so go with your ears. cheers.

squier is what those punk/emo/whatnot kids use at gaus haus gigs man.

Personally i'd rather have a less popular hence less costly brand, than a budget level sibling brand.

well dude, i was very surprised by the timbre strats when i first tried them. very impressive indeed especially for the price. tone and playability wise, i'd say at least a 8/10. if you don't like the pickups, the guitar is good enough to be worth upgrading. as for durability i can't say cos only tried at the shop.

as for the squire...well i've got no comments on squires...sometimes try its really good, but sometimes really bad...so quite inconsistent there.

the yamaha pacifica series is really good also. i feel its a little too expensive tho. but they're definitely good guitars that will still be able to accommodate you as you get better and better. worth upgrading too if you want.

but ofcourse, all these are personal, what i like may not be what you like. so yea, go with your ears and your feel on em.

no specific brand is tied down to a certain music genre, if you benefit from a certain guitar's playability/ tone, chances are, you'd be using it to propel your music, regardless of what genre it is.

i'd suggest the threadstarter play both brands & decide accordingly. the tonal performance of these models aren't quite the determinant of your acquisition; let playability factors do so.

the SX brand of strat-type guitars are also worth checking out

I'm wondering which shop holds most of the SX stocks... Still finding a full maple necked Strat and want to check the SX's out.

timbres forever man.
will be getting the white one in the future woot.

btw, timbre owners, did the timbre come with gigbag when u bought or u brought ur own?
