Hi all

Thinking of getting a Squier Tele but got a few concerns. For the Fat version with neck HB n bridge SC, when placed in the mid position, will it be actually selecting half the neck HB and mixing with the bridge SC? Or is it full neck HB with bridge SC?

Hope to hear ur replies :)

I'm pretty sure its full neck HB with bridge SC. I don't think there's a coil split built into that guitar.

My advise - skip this Squier Tele. The neck pickup is terribly muddy. But if budget is a real constraint here, get this for now, save up and upgrade the pickups later on.

i tried my friend's fat tele, doesnt sound nice as the bridge sc is very twangy and the hb is very full mixed together sounded funny...to me anyway

If you're really on a budget, get this, but don't just change the pickups. Re-wire and replace the pots on the guitar as well. Electronics on Squiers apparently tend to die after a few years.

^Exactly what i did for my squier tele cali.

Swapped out the bridge pup for dimarzio rails, neck pup for gfs sc. Shielded the cavities with copper tape. Replaced the flimsy 24awg wires with more durable 18 awg. All done diy thus saving money. The guitar plays and sounds much better now.
