jay-z & linkin park is fine, because both sounds are catchy, plus, their collaboration is done by professionals.

punkrock & metal, idk. but IMO, it's like putting jazz & rock into 1 album.
but then again, it really depends on what genre of punkrock & metal because punkrock & metal are too vague a term on its own.

i wouldnt mind a split album of metal/punkrock.
i wouldnt mind any genre actually. if its good stuff why not?
i guess we all should be open to music fusion.
we never noe unless we try rite?
and no offence to knucklehead, but imo jazz and rock sounds kewl
ahhaha...

peace people

cableheartcut >> yah. jazz n rock sounds cool. like seriously. i tried it in sch b4 with my other lads. =p.. like..nothing better to do!

but well, if this really did happen, in the end its up to individuals like us to decide on buying the stuffs or otherwise. but hey ! SUPPORT YOUR LOCAL SCENE!

:D

well i guess..its nothing wrong having a split demo of punkrock and metal.music is indeed a universal subject where nothing is right or wrong.it's all depend on the individual on how he/she thinks abt it.well in general, the trend nowadays is that the kids in the scene are not really open to any other genres beside the genre they listen to just to be "scene" unlike the local scene back in the 80's and 90's where everyone respect all genres despite being a metalhead or a punkrocker. Its all abt unity back then to support local scene. Now its all abt trend and being "scene".Well no offence though to anyone. It's just a general point of view.Besides,if everyone brings each other down, how can the local music scene progress and rise to compete in the world stage?I guess its time for us all to make a change and support the local scene.

cheers everyone. :D

1. It's been done. it's the very reason we got stuck with having to pigeonhole the 101 different words preceeding "-core" in modern music.

2. Knucklehead, tone it down. This dude here isn't the only one around who's gonna get angry with you at the rate your going.

ok i apologize. perhaps i was a bit overboard i guess?

heavy metal+hardcore punk=yes
light metal +pop/punk=yes << i share same opinion with him =)

all said and done.
