hello everyone. my friend is setting up a jammng cca so we need your support ( you as in SP students and those who talk and should do some action)

here's her pitch.

a group of friends and i are proposing to set up a new club, SP JAMMERS. The objective of the club is to function as a hub for aspiring band musicians.

Aims:

- To encourage freedom of expression through music, regardless of musical background or interest.

- To encourage formation of bands and flexibility of its members

- To create a platform for musical experimentation and learning

i'm starting the club at the request of the SAA =)

Various people have been trying this since I was there back in 1999.

Here's the background story as far as I know. Back before I was there, 1995 or so, there was such a club. Then one day they organized a big gig at the badminton courts near canteen 5 (the one with KFC). Lots of people showed up.

WITH BEER.

It was damn havoc. People drunk all over the place. The school shut the club down and never allowed such a club to be created ever again.

During my time there there was a fairly big group of about 20 people who tried to set up a jamming club. I believe over the years more people have tried. I can't believe no one succeeded yet.
