Song writing

Hi all,

I'm new in Chinese song writing. I'm keen to know where can I sell/submit my demo (melody & lyrics). Can anyone advice me on this?
I believe there must be similar question has been asked by others, but I just can't found it in this forum...Reply me with the link if you know related info. thx!!

Go to well known chinese music school and be active. Get to know people in this chinese industry.

submit your song? I think its got something to do with this organisation called "Compass".

Just wait awhile, someone with more knowledge in this field will come to this thread and give you proper information soon.

Brutha sharp_edge mentioned COMPASS. That's a good idea to ensure you get your materials copyrighted.

As for submissions, take part in as many competitions, send in your demos to labels, get your friends to sing 'em, do everything you can to get 'em out.

Most times it's a case of who you know but am sure with perserverance coupled with a 'thick face' - you can't be shy - & if your work has potential, someone will tune into 'em.

Copyright is very important.

Good luck& don't ever give up, take a break now&then but keep the fire burning.

Compass is a must for copyright. But dunno how it promote your song. Many sell their song without any right. Chinese market prefer this way. Copyright will only benefit you when there is a demand from you. I think many award winning regional songwriter don't really own copyright to their work. Producer will want the right as they are spender of the whole production.

If you wanna sell your song, know someone who have the lobang.

Thank you very much for your valueable advise! I just checked with COMPASS website. It seems that you need to have at least one published song to be their member. I guess you are right that i need to know someone who have the lobang or contact with producer. This is the most difficult part to submit my work. Actually, for the beginning, i'm not worry about the earning and copyright for my first song......satisfy enough if successfully submit to producer for their examination or publish to public!! hehe! ^^
