something wrong with my amplifier

hi guys, as i was playing my guitar just now, my amplifier suddenly give out a very large sound follow by a very loud siren sound from the amp,that was aso a smelly coming out of the amp. Has anyone encounter a similar problem? my amp is a solidstate amp, has my amp spoilt? i look at the back of the amp but cant seem to find anything burnt or something, but there was a smell n my amp would give out a loud noise when i turn it on. any advice? is it time to get a new amp?

My Marshall Mg15cdr has loud siren like noises when i kick in my wah pedal. but smell, nope.

but if i use my pedals with my Roland Cibe 30X, nothing is wrong.

if you are brave enough, try opening up the amp? check if there is anything wrong in the inside. or just bring it to any shop and ask for help.

but, can you tell us your amp's brand and model?

^ don't be crazy. opening the amp to mess around with the insides can be FATAL.

my amp is a laney extreme,30 watt solidstate, damn siao diao about it, dont kw should bring to repair anot, could it be the speaker spoilt or something in it spoilt?

i mean, open it and look if there is anything that look wrong. dont touch the wires or anything.

ok so what if you open up the amp to see what is wrong? I mean maybe you see a fried resistor but would you replace it yourself or call a tech? what if the fried resistor isn't at fault? I wouldn't want to dabble in something I'm not familiar with especially electronics IMO.

in the end, it would have to go to a tech. ask for a quotation before sending it for repair though cos it might not be cheap.

Hmm.... i'm worried now as I have the 20 watt version of this amp. Hopefully its just a fluke.
