Some Questions

I recently saw this video and the guy showed his headstock. It has a peg-lock (what he said) and he said that it is easier to wind new strings.

1) Does the peg-lock prevents the pegheads from running off so the strings won't be tuned off from its current tuning?

Looking at the Fender Stratocasters, i realised that they are priced at a hefty sum, compared to normal stratocasters. I even Wiki'ed the Fender Stratocaster but still not convinced enough...

2) What makes the Fender Stratocaster so special that is can be priced for more than 1k?

Just some daily dose of info for me, if u guys don't mind =P

There are mexican/japanese made fender stratocasters that are pre-1k.

The americans or certain jap/mex models are all above 1k.

No idea what peg-locks are though. I've heard of tuner locks, which holds the strings @ its current tuning until you release it.
