Hey all, i'm very new to drums and i'd jus like some info. I wanna know how different cymbal/drumhead sizes affect the tone. Issit like bigger drumheads louder or lower tone? I'd also like to get the definition of a 5pcs drumset. Issit like 1 bass drum, 1 snare and 3 toms (incl. floor tom)? Thx alot, i'm going into drums now since i wanna be more versatile.

Just a quick note, that size is only one factor in a whole list of variables which affect the eventual tone of a drum or cymbal. E.g., a drumhead does not really have a tone on its own, it's just a piece of plastic. A 14" drumhead, when placed on a 14" drum with a 14" depth, is going to sound different when placed on a 14" drum with a 5" depth. Standard laws of physics apply. Other variables for drumheads include things like thickness of plies, number of plies, coating, etc.

You're right. When you hear "5pc kit", it refers to the total number of drums in the configuration.
