I'm guessing he wants to keep with the pickups in his new guitar for awhile till one day he could swop it out for something better.

Why don't you try out Ibanez MIJ stuff like the RGs. Doubt you ever need to change pickups, their usually great DiMarzios or Duncans on their own. Pickup changing is not something everyone needs to do.

Maybe a 2nd hand Strat with a Floyd like the Ritchie Sambora strat? Floyd Stratocasters are usually from the 80s and 90s so do try out the 2nd hand market. They can give you the blues you want on the neck and neck-middle, and if they have a humbucker in the bridge help you in your violent tremolo usage.

What is you budget like?

IMHO Floyds robs sustain from a guitar, it's feedback and tremolo caressing that maintains what you see on a Satch or Vai video. But it's a different kind of sustain from a Les Paul or a Tele to me, meaning I feel personally that it's not the guitar's natural tone with the note being sustained but more of just the note itself.

But what do I know?

hmmm...floyd rose and good sustain dun come together very often, unless u get a set neck or neck through, which in that case most ibanez would be out. anyway its hard to find a guitar that does the whole range of sounds, the floyd strat may help...not sure abt the sambora strat but jackson has the san simas strat which is also hss with floyd so u can play gospel and blues easily (just dial down the gain, those pups are hot)

I think the first thing to ask is how much ur budget bro? I think the parker guitars are really2 good...I personally been GASing it for long..

My budget is arnd 1.5k and i dont really see Sambora strat even at guitar connection.i tried asking them if they have it too last month i suppose.Im not really looking for famous brands n such just any brand that gives the variety i wanted[stated above]

my budget is 1.5 nvr tried a parker b4.and personally i find it ugly bt feel n tone wise i've nvr come across to it yet. =) thx for the suggestion.anws is there parkers offers floyd?

Parker Guitars are light weight, 5 pounds.

As mentioned by LadyInTears, getting an Ibanez Prestige would be good.

IMHO is in my humble opinion in netspeak. I still dont really know what FTW means. For the win or F*** the world?

Anyway, Ibanez has some neck throughs you might look out for, go down to Swee Lee warehouse where you could find something I'm sure.

Well 1.5K you can afford to get plenty of brands so don't worry. A decent Fender cost around there. The San Dimas could be something to look into.

Tremolo caressing is just how I describe Vai and Satch control their feedback.

how abt S470?but i wan to look for is HSS as i lyk the neck to be single

how much does a p90 or air norton cost for the neck?

suggestion and help appreciated =) do u think its decent to puit a p90 pup on the neck for an ibanez HSH?

IMHO = in my humble opinion
FTW = FOr the WIn ( meaning like damn pro )

Your budget 1.5k is quite something.

Try Yamaha. Pacifica series. The Pac812v. Quite good. Tone sustain all there but just no floydrose instead it has trem bridge which is quite good.

http://standardvalue.com.sg/store/index.php?act=viewProd&productId=228 Swing guitars also have prices that are hard to beat.

But the best that I think would be suitable is Ibanez JEM7V Prestige.
