Slayer in Singapore: Laugh at ourselves?

I was at the Slayer gig and it was great. However, it was sad to see everyone booing when someone started to chant 'Singapore, Singapore' before the show started.

Where's our sense of pride? What will foreign bands think when they hear a home crowd like that? Imagine the japanese doing the same.

I'll be glad to bring a Singapore flag along the next time a metal band comes down.

flying the flag would be cool. but i don't see what chanting does other than make it feel like a PAP rally, lol

woohoo mosh to singapore anthem. singaporeans don't like singapore cuz they aren't happy. we got a ranking of 131 out of 178 countries on the happiness ranking, that sucks.i think we have stuff to be proud of as singaporeans anyway.

I think the Singapore, Singapore chant was out of nowhere and everone just wanted to go SLAYER! SLAYER! SLAYER!

hmmm, maybe government must change the NS scheme.

Instead of sending citizen to NS for 2 years, next time just send them to overseas countries like India, Vietnam, Indonesia, Srilanka, Nigeria, etc for 2 years so that they can be grateful of what they have in Singapore.

I was at a gig a few years ago and the Aussie kids were shouting their "Aussie Aussie Aussie" cheer and they were all in unison and united. There was a sense of comaraderie among them. I don't see why we are even complaining about chanting "Singapore". It may not sound as cool as Aussie (x3)" or "USA", but it certainly bring some unity to the concert-goers. Let's leave the politics and the rebellion against those in high-places. You may not be proud of them, but at least u could be proud of the soil u're walking on.

you guys not happy about singapore???

try to be in the philippines man! you'll wanna marry singapore after you come back,.....hahahahahaha!!!!!!

whats wrong with these countries bro? they arent really that bad.

ok, singapore is great, but no offence, im really a patriotic person and i wont chant 'singapore, singapore' on a gig where a foreign band plays, but i still love local bands. being honest

i guess what popeys is trying to say is that they dont have all the facilities that sg has.life's not all that wonderful there. and when he says india and indo. i dont think he means the cities. like the poor villages where ppl fight to be first in line to get food... like the tsunami crisis. not first in line for swee lee sale.
