hey guys
i juz read Whoever's thread about the \m/corna\m/ sign which was originally used to ward off devil but is now widely used by people who doesn't even know what it really means and how it disturbed him.

it kinda reminds me of another thing that is being embraced by some kids who doesn't know a hoot about what it really means.i'm talking about the skinhead subculture.on weekends if u go to certain places you'll spot teenagers sporting shaven heads,some freaking scary leather jackets with metal spikes that can kill you(no kidding!have you seen those things?)tight jeans and boots(all of which they probably bought with their parents money) walking around in groups so proudly.

i may be wrong,but i don't think they know what the skinhead movement is all about.To sumarise,the skinhead subculture is a leftover of the nazi beliefs.it is a racist ideology of some white people,who believed that their ethnic is "holier than thou"(i'm a metallica fan).In the past,they used to target the jewish people,and in the post 9/11 era they have chanelled their hatred to immigrants(mostly from asia) and muslims.these people have been known to assault and even murder people of different ethnic as they are.


therefore,these kids are supporting a subculture that victimise themselves.if they go to some parts of the world, their skinhead 'brothers' would probably beat the crap out of em.every time i see these kids i think "how stupid are you man?".i bet if they actually know what they represent they would throw away their skinhead stuffs and grow long hair instead and convert to metalheads haha!

let them be. we just continue on with our life and dont bother about other people's life.

everyone needs a place to belong to, an organisation so to speak. its human nature to have the need to belong, to carve an identity for themselves. its not wrong. its human right. plus it seems your into metal? am i wrong to assume that you belong to an 'organisation' too?

they are not dissing you, so why are you dissing them? plus stop being a keyboard hero dude. if you dont like how things is, do something about it. go straight to the problem and fix it. whats the point of babbling about it? it wont change anything...

not all skinheads are racist, the skinhead subculture may had connotations with nazism but it was founded as a way to stick it to the man too, and is closely associated to other subcultures like the mods and rude boys.

I suggest you read up on the working-class skinheads, before you blabber utter shit, and get schooled by some old school skinheads.

there are 2 main groups of skinheads, SHARPs (Skinheads Against Racial Prejudice) and Nazi Skins. Up to you to choose which of those 2 lovely groups you prefer but its best not to confuse one from the other though it is hard. But i think most of the skinheads are the SHARP type so they're not gonna be beating up bangla workers soon, but they'll beat up a person beating up a bangla worker. Actually, that i'm also not sure haha.

I believe Skinhead in Singapore is just another music culture or movement, u cant expect every1 to follow everything the western do......In western, i believe the Skinhead girlfriend are share among the group,they riot, they even dare to whack a police, i do believe some are dare enough to do dumb things, but some are clever enough not to be dumb...Poser as you can say, other music culture also the same, for example punk and their so call Anarchy movement,in Singapore with an Anarchy movement? are u sure?... i known and mix and mingle whom are skinhead, this people i call the veteran, married with children and in their blood, is all about music, some even say that the skinhead movement nowadays are like secret society, they even have name for themself after a hotspot they mingle and create juvenile trouble, like the Adelphi(building beside Penin) Skins which now being abolished for some certain reason....and 1 sch was famous to have alot of number of skinhead, Fuchun Sec, how i noe, coz few of them stay ard my area, and yeah they are super nice to me....Remember, in Singapore, those underground culture and music scene are really close watch by the Authority, we are here for the music, if every culture follow everything what western is doing, and this thing go on and on and on, i believe the Authority have will surely do something to put a stop on such violence culture, but y they cant stop secret society, that i dunno....hahaha

the kids are harmless. . . and actually, if u read up on the skinhead subculture and history of skinhead, u will come to realize that not all skinheads in the world are racist. in fact, the so-called "nazi skinhead" dun really exist in singapore. the skins in singapore are mainly traditional skinheads, who dressed up for their love of reggae, ska, punk music. . . there are also some skinheads in sg who are members of the SHARP. go lookup on wat SHARP means and u'll get the clearer picture. . .

Adelphi skins! No wonder I've been seeing them there. I wonder why Adelphi, and I'm glad they're abandoning the place. Adelphi's one my favourite places, I go there at least once a week to satisfy my hi-fi GAS.

I always wanted to shave my head cos its so much more cooler (heat does not retain in the hair) and there is no sweaty hair to deal with after playing soccer.

But i have not shaved my hair cos i dun wanna be associated with skinheads, wayward kids, rebeliion etc.. (very easy, given the stereotypical singaporean mindset)..

So during hot season i sometimes cut my hair to about 2-3 cm long..
