lol?! quirky, yet crude, simplistic (and somewhat amateurish) humour, but it gets the job done. Although I must say, I don't really get the joke most of the time

It's Boomz.....not Booms.

Sista Beyonce would have corrected that error. But Ris 'the bigini' Low would have sue for copyright infringement.

not funny. the whole booms thing isn't even funny. it was something started by a bunch of ignorant people who apparantly don't know what an onomatopoeia is, and yet they use words like "haha", "bang", etc.

seriously..hypocrites.

evident: I get what you're saying. "Boomz" is actually pretty self-explanatory for people who haven't been living under a rock.

Although it isn't exactly onomatopoeia. It's not like people who wear really loud-coloured outfits go around exploding and making a racket with their clothes.

it's metaphorical. she means that her fashion sense is one that "makes a deep, resonant sound". and she even goes on to explain that what she meant was that "it shouts ME!".

so really, wtf is wrong with that?

the last of the 6 ways of how to use boomz was hilarious!!

"that day i saw the girl open the boy`s pants, Then he BOOMZ in her mouth"

Haaha..!!

How exactly does a fashion sense make "a deep and resonant sound"? o_O

as i said it's metaphorical. do you not know what a metaphor is? try this..

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Metaphor

have you studied social studies in sec school? i'll assume you did. when you say the population "exploded", or use the term "baby boom". did you actually literally mean that someone planted a bomb and it exploded or a baby underwent spontaneous combustion? think about it.

i understand that her problem is in her poor fashion sense, she doesn't know what she's talking about, and the whole credit card fraud thing. i agree on those points, but not the ones dissing her English which just about EVERYONE is on her ass (metaphorically) about. no jskadiang, we're not literally piled up on her ass, just in case you were wondering.;)

I thought the general public's main gripe was about her lack of proper pronunciation, not her fashion sense? Seems that most people don't really give two hoots about her credit card fraud and all the rest now that she's stepped down. Just everyone's using her signature "BOOMZ"

Imitation being the sincerest form of flattery? Or just pure ridicule?

The Indian "reporter" in this vid has a pronounciation problem too. pple in glass houses shouldnt throw stones.

But is this the standard of S'porean humour?

Try some Ali G.

The production is great. But it is a pity the video was made. Cos it will only add more insult to Ris and that is not a nice thing to do.

Will close this thread now.
