Hey, I don't know how many people have watched this show, but it's a great tribute to some of the "unsung" heroes of the local music scene, like Margaret Leng Tan (highly praised in New York, but who the heck knows who she is here?) performing (or was it not performing) her famous 4.33; and that famous kik-kok harmonica player/juggler as well as that singing lady at the MRT!!

Some other "famous" names include Juanita Melson (she used to do Redifusion, if I'm not wrong, met her once - big voice! - she now does the MRT voice overs - "please stand away from the yellow lines otherwise you will fall and then the train will come and crush you to death!" okay the last part she doesn't say, but I think it's implied....

Let's face it, some of these people have more heart than some of our local bands...

Well, 4'33" was not hers but John Cage's. And anybody can do it. My son can do that, although you'll hear lots of giggles from him throughout the 4'33"...

Hahaha! My son can't even keep still for 33 seconds, let alone 4' 33". That's like an eternity for him!

And yeah, I do like her interpretation of Crumb's work too!

arts is like that lah. actually very commercial one. once a person become famous, whatever they do will be fashion. but once a person is no longer popular, his/her work is 'just not as good as last time'?

tell you all a funny story. long ago, when i was still learning piano. my father's friend told us that his daughter who is like just a few years old also started learning the piano. then i was like , 'ya, ok'.

years later, the little girl's grandmother told us that the little girl is doing solo concert.
