Yes i've just recieved the wedsite of the drum fest, my heart was beating very fast! Now I'm glad I'm a drummer! It's like Singapore Idol, American Idol, See who can dance and now even better Drummer Idol! Not sure if i should join the competition? The standard must be at least very good and also must have thick skin. I'm not sure what's my standard.

Yes...you can join the Festival for sure...at least go for the Audition next month...I've seen you play...a Jazz man who have learn from Tony, Tama, Dol (Loius also your Sifu befire right?)...Bro I've seen you Solo before liao - and you are good.....Let's say I'm good and I know you're joining - I sure bak-out one...Kekekeke

That will be great Buddy...ah and yes there is 2 Category for the Solo Competition.
(1) Age below 21 years old (we both too old for that)
(2) Open-Category (meaning any age also can even 80 years old) - this one you can join lah.
Because Drumming is not like "Singapore Idol" which really had to impose an Age-Limit all round the Globe which is understandable because Old liao how to be an Idol (only Auntie not young and pretty girls will appreciate us mah) ....If not I sure join one, I can sing Bery well leh...(Now that is really Thick-Face of me - because I also quite Handsome one actually .. I mean for a 46 years old man..not bad liao)....If I younger sure a lot of cha-bo die in my hand one..Kekekeke :smt040

Hey, why don't we start something. Let's say we meet a drummer anywhere in the street, the jam studio or at a gig, let's ask them, "Are you going to the Drum Fest?"
I know this is kid's stuff, but I think it'll be really fun! I heard stories about how the drumming community is in the US, why can't we have a vibrant community here? I am sure the drum fest will bring a lot of us together - more than any get-together that's been organised.
