sub.....

thats a hotrails in the bridge??

wat volume and tone pots are you using? 250k or 500k?

100% Duncan in my tele:

Bridge- Hot Rails
Neck- Hot Rhythm

using 500K... 8)

on another note, do not get the tele just to instal a humbucker in there. i swapped mine after getting a strat...

FLCL: the tele is great for classic rock stuff, very cutting/biting tone on the bridge

on the topic of teles with humbuckers - Johnny Greenwood of Radiohead comes to mind (he uses a Tele Plus). just to remind you how versatile a tele can be if u want it to

i'm about to get a Hot Rails bridge pickup installed in my tele too :D

i dig my current jap Texas Specials... but want to do heavier stuff with my tele so i'm trying the Hot Rails as recommended by Sub from a long time ago... i was debating between the Hot Rails and the Quarter Pound Lead (to preserve the single-coil tone). but i found a decent deal for the Hot Rails, so....

Sub.....500 K for both volume and tone pots?

I got a SD vintage in the neck....recommended?

if you love the current vintage voicing, the 500K won't do wonders for tone.

Yup- i have 500K for both vol/ tone... 8)

500k pots not ideal for vintage tone? how's that, sub? 500k pots add more treble to your tone, no?

Yes there is more treble but fenders till today with single coils are equipped with 250k ones.

what jony said.

i've not heard single coils sounding pleasant with 500K ones, but i do hear good stuff from humbuckers with 250K units 8)

btw,is it possible to get a standard tele n then install a floating bridge on it?ehehe...

possible- if you don't mind wood being gouged from the body + paying quite an arm for it.

he didn't buy the tele & install a hum in the neck- it's already there by default. a 72 Tele Custom is an example:
