hey guys ! anyone know how much will it cost to ship a bass with hardcase frm US to singapore ? any extra charges excluding shipping ?

and u guys have any other good website to ship in bass?

hi, there is a possibility u can still ship from MF indirectly. i haven't tried it but...

sign up for a Vpost account, and shop at Amazon.com. Amazon ties up with many online music shops like MF/8th Street music etc. you can then supply a credit card with a local billing address, but get the item u want from MF shipped to your Vpost address. cheers

yeah .. that could work as fibredrive has said ...

i shipped my Octabass a while back indirectly from Musician's Friend ... bought it through amazon though .. so i didn't get the rebates that were offered on MF ... sigh .. oh well .. anything to get the Octabass ...

yes, they don't even accept overseas credit cards ... tried it before ...

Eh i think they do accept overseas credit cards. Are u using local banks cc? coz im buying stuff with my citibank cards. Im currently in the states but that doesnt change anything since they wouldnt know my address base on juz my card number

hey, musiciansfriend does not accept overseas credit cards or shipping addresses.

the ONLY way i know of, and have tried, is to use Vpost's Vconcierge service. vpost will pay using a us credit card and your item would be shipped to vpostusa, then to your doorstep. they charge a small fee for this service. go to their website for more details.

they do. it's just that they are in the process of migrating their u-box for overseas customers into their ebay store. the u-box hosted by their site only handles domestic. overseas is all ebay.

other than the u-box you can choose to buy brand new from their store. and then there's also talkbass.

After spending a few hours comparing the shipping rates for all the package forwarding companies mentioned in this forum and other forums on the web, I found out that Viaddress.com at http://www.viaddress.com offers the lowest shipping rates according to the shipping calculators on all those sites.

Their Package forwarding service is actually FREE !, with NO set up fees and NO monthly membership fees and they also offer FREE Concierge Service!!! While other companies charge you 5% to 15% commission fee. It also says on their website http://www.viaddress.com that they have the biggest Personal shopper service on Ebay.com in the US.

Well… All of these good points convinced me to try them… and I’m glad I did...

I have used them to shop from Ebay in the US and on other couple of US sites that didn't ship outside the US and I was able to save a lot on shipping by combining all my boxes in one large box for FREE! You can do this by using the package consolidation tool in your account area on Viaddress.com.
Be carefully this post happen also at hardwarezone.Any thing bout Viaddress.com, there is always new member with 1st post stated that Viaddress.com is good.i think these guy work for them.

ya the ebay store sucks. in the past, the english u box had the same stuff as the jap u box. i dont know if they are gonna step up the listings of all the stuff. maybe its just a teething problem.

anyway, there are only a few things u can get from japan that's cheaper than usa. too bad its so damn hard to ship from usa.

be weary of viaddress

a quick search on google "viaddress singapore" pulled up many forum threads with people promoting viaddress, seems perfectly normal until u actually read them. they're all adverts and i guess these people are working for viaddress

advertising on forums is okay, but assuming many identities and spamming free in caps "FREE" "FREE" "FREE" is just lovelovelovelovelovelovelove brainless

if they were good, they won't be posting such crappy adverts

i personally wouldn't use a freight forwarder just to save money. i'd only do it if i need the forwarding address. even vpost has been known to cockup. saving money is one thing but throwing everything away is another.
