Hi
Im currently trying to get some enclosures for pedals.
Do u know where i can get them reasonably without incurring too much shipping cost? Overseas or locally but locally wud be better.
SmallBear's shipping cost a bomb.
Do u guys have other "lobangs"?
Thx in advance.
Tim

tymc was my first option but their prices are kindof exorbitant compared to online prices.. yeah.
thanks alot guys. if u guys got any more "lobangs" do tell me always on a lookout for cheaper alternatives

Some of their guitar parts were cheap in the past but I never enquired about pedals stuff. I did notice their guitar parts prices seems to be higher now than before. Maybe its across the board for their products. They used to be good and cheap. Now I guess its just good (service that is).

Did you factor shipping in when considering if its worth the while for you to buy the enclosure from them?

the enclosure for pedals or any other components for pedal making, will only be cheap when one buy in bulk of hundred or thousand

for the convenience of just buying few of those for self pleasure, just spend the money at tymc to save trouble on shipping and other worries.

If really want cheap, try simlim tower for plastic enclosure, sheet metal enclosure. Those, are cheaper compared to the typical die cast enclosure for effect kinda. And wanna cheaper 2pdt footswitch, it can be found there as well.

But then, just have to remember, what you get will be what you pay for, those from sl tower while definitely will work for pedals making and stuff, but the quality can be varied by a lot.

for pedal knobs, dont even have to look to rs, just go sim lim tower, there are plenty. But dont ask whether got for effet pedals one, coz the auntie will either laugh at you or think that its weird question, coz knobs are just knobs, as long its the right size, it will fit the pot we use for pedals/geetar.

thanks alot pat. went to sl twrs many a times but didnt know they sell enclosures?
anw thanks alot all of u guys for the great input. this forum is awesome :D

yup, plastic enclosure, sheet metal enclosure(harder to work with), 2pdt etc on the 3rd floor. That floor has more shops that sell electronic component and stuff compared to the 1st and 2nd floor. At basement, theres also 1 or 2 shops which has components as well.

but do take not that you might have to know what you wanna or look through the shelf on your own for the parts you wanna. The aunties/uncle there usually do business with folks from engineering industrial, so they wont know things to do with geetar or effect pedals.

get a box of cadbury chocs ... eat up all the chocs and you got a big enclosure
if you want smaller ones, those cough drops container are good.

firstly i'll be fat n die of chocolate poisoning before i get enough boxes to fit all my efx. secondly, ill be crushing the box whenever i stomp on them. haah

dun eat all by yourself lah .. share share mah

another option to consider is to buy spoilt pedals and
salvage the case and whatever parts
but you must then squeeze your homebrew in.
