Shipping an amplifier

Hi guys, I wanted to ask for your advice. I'm currently in the States for an exchange program and will come back around January. I have bought a guitar and will most probably be buying an amp too. How should I go about shipping it back home? I have searched the forum and most recommend V-Post. Is that applicable to my situation? Since I am already here and don't need a US address. Just need a relatively affordable but secure method to send my precious goods home. Anyone? Thanks in advance!
