Shield my guitar.

Anyone here offering such services?

Or know anyone who does it?

Single coils are noisy, need to quiet the beast. TIA.

shielding does help but only to a certain extent. you can either do it the foil method or the spray paint method. either way works fine.

changing to noiseless pickups is another option to consider.

Foil method or spray paint method... I tried looking online but the explanations are beyond me. Anyone can use a layman-er explanation to guide me perhaps? Pardon, never done shielding before.

Can it eliminate a strat hum to a great extend though?

Something like, 2 4 positions. Not VERY quiet, but not so audible?

PS: Any shops ard do shielding? If so, any idea how much they may charge roughly? Thanks again

google around and search SOFT. Some SOFTies have done it before - and surprise, the quiet brought abt a suspected change in tone.

If its a single coil - it will hum. A well made one will hum less but still hum e.g. Budz and Suhr single coils are really quiet considering they are single coils - but they still hum.

Why not try a stacked single coil e.g. Dimarzio Area series - that still preserves your single coil-ness to a large extent?
