whose staying in woodlands??
If you are, please refrain yourself from goin out at night.
Woodlands-Marsiling area has the highest number of ghost sightings for the past 10 years.
Remember True Singapore Ghost Stories Book 1 where Russell Lee had taken a picture of a "pocong" (some kind of a mummy). The exact location was the forest where it now houses Republic Polytechnic.
The empty block across the church (Blk 852 Woodlands Street 83) is also the talk amongst Woodlands Residents for the past 8 years. Somehow it happened when a young girl was brutally murdered at the ground floor of the lift lobby in 1992.
Blk 825 (just across Woodlands MRT) is also well known for sightings of toyols. Apparently a bomoh used to stay there and own toyols. Maybe this toyol was left out?
The small park in Woodlands Street 13 is the famous haunting ground for pontianaks. Somehow, this used to be a sacrifice place for bomohs to sacrifice young virgins.
Another plot of land (which houses Marsiling Secondary School now) is also a former sacfricial place.
Finally.... if u walk further up Woodlands Street 13, there will be a big canal which leads into straits of Johor. If u stayed there on Thursday at around 1-2 pm, u will see a figure of a man fishing there in the dark. It was told that the piece of land there used to be the sea.
Do update me with more news. Btw, Im a Woodlands Resident for 13 years
aye im so late. i moved out of my woodlands flat 5 years ago. i lived in block 803 st 81 fifth floor. i had a balcony and i used to keep my dog in a cage at the end of the balcony which faced the main door. first few years of staying there was alright, except for the windows at the balcony which faced the main road and a whole bunch of trees. after that they decided to build causeway point and the other stuff.
anyway. i was.. 13 or 14 at that time, and i liked to surf the net late into the night. i didn't bother to close my main door on a few occasions and only locked it before i was done with my net surfing.
one night close to midnight when everyone was asleep except me, the door was again left open. my dog, which had been sleeping the whole time, suddenly woke up and started crying. from my computer table, i could just stick my head out and see the door. there was nothing. my mom prays to ti gong so there's that thing hanging from the ceiling in front of the gate. i didn't dare walk to my dog because i had to walk past the door to get to her. so i just peeped at her from one of the windows. she sat up and stared straight outside. she just kept crying and crying i didn't know what to do so i got brave and walked to the door. i looked straight into the space behind the gate and stared fiercely. lol. in my mind i was thinking 'don't you dare fking scare me.' haha after that i swiftly slammed the door shut and ran back to my computer.
after that night, these occurances seemed to get more and more frequent. it didn't just occur in the night. 5 or 6am before sunrise also cry. even with my door closed my dog would still sit up and cry. there was once i was too scared and i asked my maid to close the door but she refused and pushed me towards the door HAHA idiot maid zzz.
anyway, it was only after we moved to hillview did i tell my parents about it. my mom said there was two reasons for moving. one was because the property was rising and second cuz they had actually sought help from a master and he said that our main gate was a meeting point for the spirits.
my parents didn't believe him initially but not until i told them. heng heng we moved out lah. HAHA meeting point. god. so that night i wasn't staring at one but many!!!!
horrible but when i think back i think it's quite funny. anyway at this new place hillview ave there's the hillview mansion as well. my friends and i hiked up to the mansion few years back when i was in sec 3 or 4. wasn't as scary lah cuz it was in the mid afternoon but it was darn huge. marble tiles were left stacked up. renovation works were undone. walking up the spiral staircase inside the mansion itself was horrible cuz there weren't any railings. we went down to the basement. it looked like a stage. i could picture a movie theatre inside lol. the basement toilet was a tad eerie. it was dark and looked as if there was a coffin inside but no one dared to go near it.
we went in odd numbers and i finally knew why they said we should always pair up...
i was the odd one out la zzz... cuz i was a transfer student, still not as close to them as the others. lol. anything happen i die lor. XD
anyway nothing happened hahaha.
