SGP visitor looking for Clubs Bars Pubs

Hello,

I will visit sgp in the next days for about 9 weeks. i´m searching for music clubs, pubs and bars where i will be able to hear indipendent, alternative, rock, rock´n´roll music and maybe also locations for punk,emo and hardcore. i will be very thankful for all information and maybe url´s or anything. it don´t have to be live loactions (but could be), only to drink beer and listen good music

Beer you say?

You could try these few places:

Wala Wala (Holland Village)
Bala Clava (Suntec City)
China One (Clarke Quay)
Timbre (Armenian Street)
One Night Stand (Clarke Quay)
Muddy Murphy's (Orchard Towers)

I've only recommended the places where there are Live Bands, and those who play mostly rock music, among the usual cheesy pop rock. As far as i know, bands on Friday night are as follows:

The UnXpected (Muddy Murphy's)
Tabula (Bala Clava) My band!!!! :twisted:
By Definition (China One)
Timmy (Timbre)

If you happen to be at Bala, do look for the bassist (me)

i have to second orchard towers. there's a few good bands on the second level, especially The Shaggies at Ipanema. plus lots of eye candy :wink: you could also check out Vintage Pub at Cuppage Plaza. i definitely have to recommend House of Rock at Tras St. just ignore the hoes and watch the band.

for the cheapest booze, look no further than across the road from orchard towers. no, not Hard rock cafe. opposite that in ming arcade. go down to the basement and you'll find Patio bar. beer is only $15 a jug, $10 on tues, and heineken stubbies are 2 for $10 on thurs. nice chill out place that plays 70s/80s rock, pool table and great chicken wings! if you need some heavier music/booze, go up one floor to Chips. heineys are 2 for $10 on Mon and housepours/beer are $12 a jug on Weds.

for great, freshly-brewed beer, my favourite place is Brewerkz. it's a microbrewery along clarke quay. if you go between noon and 3pm it's only $4 a pint! no live band or anything. just great beer that's cheap.

thanks for all these information. it will be much easier to have a nice free
time with it. without i think i would get lost in sgp or won´t find any nice
places to be. i live in a small city in germany with a population of 40000 not
comparable with singapore. normally i will have to drive to another city to
listen to any live music.
