SG recommendation

hey im thinkin of buy an SG guitar. any brand will do as long as the sound is decent(tone more important lol). budget wise would be $300-$400++. so any recommendations? preferably getting it 1st hand.

epiphone or esp ltd would be best bet. but with your budget....

if you raise your budget slightly higher. you could afford a epiphone g400 if im not wrong

if not your stuck with the epiphone sg specials

I believe you could get a g400 2nd hand with that budget.

yeah you can find some 2nd hand pieces in pretty good condition at that price

2nd hand at dat range? will hunt for it . say, if i were to get a sg 1st hand, should i go for a sg special or g310? or others?

Imo, the only epiphone sg worth getting is the G400, which is mighty fine. Keep a lookout on soft.

hmm... i was thinkin, of buyin a lower end sg copy then mod it, like changin pickups, pots and stuff. do u guys recommend dat? i know it has been asked b4, but u know la, sometimes u jus want more answers. lol

what if you could stretch your budget a little bit more and get a G400 and mod it.wont it be more worthwhile compared to getting a low end sg copy.

gotta try your luck in the buy/sell section i got a great epiphone les paul standard at $140 which of course needs some work on it but still playable.try your luck.

Anything that is not part of the G-400 series, or the Prophecy series, or Elitist, is not worth the money IMO..
It feels cheap and sounds cheap.. Even with better pups/pots/etc, most probably the wood used and the entire construction would be quite bad..

This is entirely my opinion.. I've played too many bad G-310 and Specials to know they ain't good guitars..
