Hello there Softies!

Hello,im new here =).I like to play stuff like metallica.(TRASH METAL FTW!) I was thinking of putting seymour duncans on my guitar which is d ex-50.im gonna put Seymour Duncan JB SH-4 on the bridge and the Seymour Duncan Distortion on the neck position.Sooo.How u guys think of it?Im gonna use this guitar for quite a long time and also probably im getting Line 6 Spider 3 15watt.Tell me wad u guys think, gimme suggestions or whatever =)

Thank you!

You might want to consider the Duncan Distortion Mayhem set (PM seekz and he may be able to get them for you, its probably cheaper than buying them separately). The thing about the JB is that it may lack bottom end with certain rigs.

The JB may lack bottom end (bass) leading to it sounding thin, i.e. no chunk for palm muting. However, an EQ pedal can solve this problem. Go check out the Seymour Duncan website for soundclips, or consult seekz.

I'm trying my best.

Hey there, first thing good choice on the Ex-50. Haha! If you like metallica like I do, you can choose EMG, a one good pickup for metallica songs... You can get active pickups, just make a hole for the battery, and you might wanna get 81/60 or 81/81. That is for the pups. For amp, try getting an amp without an effect as they are much more better..but that amp would do fine. If you want more 'Metallica' sound, get the DM4 modeler, it is a distortion pedal. I hope those helps...

Try getting a Metallica tone from what you have first cause if you change your pickups thinking you could sound like them, you might just fool yourself.

It'll be great if you could invest on your amp or effects rather than jumping to pickups straight away.

its not that.my bro asked if he and me shared money to buy pickups then i said why not?haha.because i dont have that much money to buy a powerful
amp.but i noe to produce maximum quality of pickups are through guitar wood type and amp (i think theres another one lol) =)

well as they have said saving and investment is a powerful thing that goes a long way.just my advice to keep you away from disappointment.

Well not the ideal move at the moment considering your rig.The difference wont be as significant compared to having a new amp.
