anybody has tried it? any reviews? i'm looking for something to replace my neck PU preferbly something with a slight vintage gibson type of tone something like an sg or les paul.

so you want a single coil sized humbucker? or a full sized one?

ive tried both. the full sized one is very smooth. perfect for neck position - singing leads and overdrive tones...etc... perfectly capable when it comes to other styles too eg shred....funk....etc...

the single coil sized one however loses abit of its warmth and low end... but this makes it very good for soloing - singing sustain or fast shred licks.... and chords... better clarity then the full sized one i feel. which has abit too much bass.

that's the Lil '59 there you see in my RG560 (that white pickup). unlike the full-sized version, the Lil '59 has more midrange & higher output, this makes it a good solo pickup. i certainly didn't regret putting it in my Ibanez, it does clean & overdriven tones very well.

Lil'59 is made to sound like a 59 (on a les paul) on a guitar which does not have the les paul characteristics, ie an alder-bodied strat. i find its a "love it or hate it" pickup, there is no in-between.

personally for me, i hate it. too much bass.

hmm im looking for a full sized one cause my rg has only 2 humbucker slots. sounds pretty good, any idea how much it costs?
