Setup my electric guitar?

I have this LTD that I messed up after I changed my strings.
Can I get someone from a guitar shop to help me setup my guitar for $20?

Is $20 considered reasonable, and will it be nicely setup?

Setups usually cost about $50 i think. most stores do basic setups and do it pretty well but if you can find any within your budget just google your problem and u shd have the solution.

whats the problem with the LTD btw?

i dun think $20 can find you a decent setup. $50 should be a safe bet. but of cos if it's a not so serious problem maybe ppl here can help

There's this fret buzz going on at certain section of the guitar no matter how I adjust the 2 metal piece behind the guitar.

For instance, the fret buzz can exist from B string 1st fret to 10th fret. And after I adjust it, the buzz will skip to e string 11th fret to 16 fret. The buzz appears at different sections everytime I adjusted a little (trying to get rid of the fret buzz).

Maybe someone can pinpoint me to a website that teaches you how to setup your guitar properly or get rid of fret buzz (or at least minimize the buzz to one or two frets only).

LOOK FOR BEEZ ! @ Roxy Square
Great setup. Good price especially if you're a student.
He'll throw in a couple of lessons or tips as well while doing the setup. Be prepared to take notes :p:p

If you live in the north, pay Standard Value a visit and look for Mike. His setups are great and comparably affordable at the same time. Best if you email him, ask him when he'll be at the store and ask for a quotation first I suppose, but a full setup there is probably between 40 to 50 bux including strings.

Yo could try TYMC, the dudes there are nice. Unfortunately, you can't learn much: you drop the guitar there, they'll telephone you to pick it up.
Recently i've been to Sound Alchemy and emailed them for queries, Scott's a really nice guy to work with.
Both have around the same price, 40 bucks.

+1 to Mike.
He set up both my guitars and he did an excellent job at it. Really precise

sounds like the problem is your guitar's action and adjusting the 2 thing at the back if i get you correctly only increases the spring tension it doesnt solve the problem..
if your using a floyd rose bridge the problem can be easily resolved by using an allen key to adjust the holes found at the edges of the bridge..
if its a fixed bridge it's alil more tricky..
anw it's not a bad thing to send your guitar to the shops for set up.. but learning the how to set up your guitar would save your moolahs in a long run :)

If you stay in the east, I strongly recommend Beez, located at roxy square. Great service and can pick up a tip or two about your instrument.

Haha i think there are enough good guitar setup-ers available around the island such that we all don't have a big need to go to Beez, although i'm sure he won't mind.
